Missions

Grace Church

Please be praying for our minsters, church leaders and members that:

They have faith in God's Sovereignty

Seek His will in all things

Follow Christ's word in leadership of this congregation

Serve with abiding love and grow continually in the Spirit.

Missionaries
Debbie Chase- Malawi:
Debbie serves in the Ekwendeni, Malawi as an administrator and lecturer at the University of Livingstonia, College of Theology, a seminary of the Synod of Livingstonia, which serves the northern region of Malawi.  This is through its 130 congregations, 500 primary schools, 5 secondary schools and 3 hospitals through its development and relief work and evangelism programs.  The Synod has only 105 ministers to serve the needs of 610,000 members and their communities, but this number is growing as the Theology School is graduating new ministers.

Rev. Dr. Arthur W. & Sue Kinsler- Korea:
Working in Missions since 1972, Art is retired but still preaches at Yonsei Univesity's global worship and the English or Korean worship services of Korean congregations.
Since 2003, Sue has visited North Korea.  She now runs a program to feed thousands of young children in the North.  She founded the lighthouse Foundation in 2004 which provides clothing and medicine for over 700 orphans.  She has also helped found a Center for Disabled children in Korea.  As dangerous as it is, Sue makes two trips yearly into North Korea.

Kathleen & Joseph Angi- Hungary:
Rev. Kathy Angi and Joseph Angi serve in Budapest.  Kathy, an ordained PC(USA) minister, is the first mission worker assinged to be a field presence for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, traveling to various regions of the world to help churches respond to and prepare for disaster.  Kathy and Joe are involved in refugee ministries and Bible studies in Hungary.

Chaplain Joe Woods:
Chaplain at Tri-City Medial Center, Rev. Woods visits those who are churched of not.  He also serves on the Ethics Committee which is responsible for the ethical and compassionate treatment or non-treatment of the critically ill and dying.
Pray that he will bring Christ's love and peace to all those he serves.
Pray that he seeks Christ's will in matters of ethics concerns.
Pray that he would be blessed with compassion, wisdom and discernment

Community Garden
Grace Church is exploring the possibility of starting a community garden here.  There are a few folks who are exploring this idea and hoping to be able to begin the program in the spring planting season.  This is still in the exploratory stages, but is a way that this church will enable those with need to help support themselves.
Pray for those exploring this possibility, that God will lead them to make the decisions that He would have us make
Pray that, if this is started, for those who will be planting and cultivating their own good, that they will be nourished by God's love as well as the food they eat from the garden.

Soup Kitchen and John Caulder
The ministry feeds the body and spirit and is lovingly administered by dedicated folks from this church and others.  Our soup kitchen, with the direction of Bob Wilson, is open every Tuesday evening.  The recipients are lovingly fed hand-prepared food and their spirits are lovingly fed by John Caulder.  Many are in need of clothing and that is donated by the congregation and others and distributed at this time.
Pray that this ministry's participants know that Christ does care about them
Pray that they are able to find permanent shelter and be blessed with adequate finance
Pray that this ministry will continue to thrive and serve those who are so much in need
Pray that the volunteers be blessed in their work.

Friends of Los Ninos
This is a Christian organization dedicated to helping the plight of orphans in five Tijuana orphanages by providing help with medications, medical services, food, shoes, and needed household items.  It will also be responsible for the day to day operations of orphanage.
Pray for God's hand to be directly involved in every child's life.  In Mexico, orphans have no power and are not at all valued.
Pray for ongoing monetary support to help in this ministry.
Pray for the leaders of this group, pray for wisdom, obedience of God's word and tenacity to work through the issues facing each of these orphanages so that the children can thrive and face a better future.

Operation Hope
This is a temporary homeless shelter that operates from December through March each year.  It houses and feeds families during the cold winter months with the goal of finding permanent housing and jobs.  We support this operation with Tuesday evening meals from our own soup kitchen and also participate in the annual dinner/auction.  Additionally, Grace Church participates in the annual CROP walk for which 25% of the proceeds go to Operation Hope.
Pray for the leadership of this shelter to have compassion, patience, tough love where necessary and wisdom.
Pray that the community will continue to fully support this facility and it's ministry with donations in kind and monetary support/
Pray that the folks who are there this winter will see Christ's love in action and experience that love in their own hearts.
Pray that those who leave the shelter will then have a home to go to and a job to support them.

Friends of Camp Pendleton
A new ministry started by the mission committee this year to support our good friends and neighbors at Camp Pendleton.  We are hoping to be able to tutor children if needed, prepare for the homecoming of troops and just be there if needed by any spouse or family.
Pray for the families of the soldiers who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
Pray for the safety and health of every Marine currently and formerly deployed.  Thank God for their bravery and tremendous cost to them and their families.
Pray for the strength for the families of deployed Marines while dealing with the everyday issues and the joys and challenges of raising children alone.

Deacon's Pantry
A missional outreach of the Deacons.  It provides bags of groceries to those in need who stop by the church and ask for them.
Pray for continued support of this very worthwhile ministry and ask if this is something that you could support with just a few cans of food.
Praise that we are able to provide the food and be so blessed as to not need it ourselves.
Pray that the recipients know of Christ's love and know His peace in difficult times.

Amity Foundation
This is an independent Chinese voluntary organization on the initiative of Chinese Christians to promote education, social services, health and rural development in China.  Through the promotion of holistic development and public welfare, Amity services society, benefits the people and strives to promote world peace.  We support Amity Printing Co, ltd. as it prints Bibles in Chinese and distributes them through China in support of the Christian Church in China.
Pray for the continued success for Christian conversion in a country where proselytizing is not permitted.
Praise God for his protection of those who preach in His name where they could end up in jail or worse.
Pray for continued Divine direction, energy, good health and protection for those missionaries engaged in helping the Chinese.

Medical Benevolence Fund
Saving lives through collection and worldwide distribution of surplus medical supplies has been a major point of ministry for MBF.  In partnership with Project C.U.R.E. they identify, solicit, collect, sort and distribute medical surplus.
Pray for continued success in meeting the needs of those unable to afford medical supplies.
Praise God for those who contribute large amounts of medical supplies that are distributed and also for those who support this ministry monetarily.
Pray for the many who in HIS name use these goods and supplies to treat those who would not otherwise receive medical treatment.

Witnessing Ministries of Christ
This ministry proclaims the Good News among the 'untouchables' (lowest outcasts of the caste system) in India.
Pray for a change of heart and that all peoples might be seen as equal and treated fairly in india.
Pray for the continuation of this ministry that the 'least of these' will know God's love and peace and with the help of God will be able to live in humane conditions and hold jobs and be respected as humans.
Pray for the continued devotion of the missionaries who under very difficult conditions continue to minister to the Dalits.

The Committee will Add Another Missionary Soon
The Haningers recently retired, the new Mission books just arrived and it is our hope to choose a new medical missionary or missionaries through God's direction very soon.
Pray for all the missionaries to continue to be full of God's love, direction, good health and every to enable them to carry out the work that God has led them to do.
Pray that each missionary has funding to be able to adequately do their jobs.
Pray that God prepare the hearts of those receiving the missionaries' messages and good works.
